One of the great things about CrossFit that most people never see is the amount of support provided for affiliates. There is so much info sharing and support for anyone trying to build up a program. One of the first lessons to learn is “start small and get kicked out”. Well, we are not close to getting too big for Balance Gym, but we do have to bump the time back a little bit.

So for the time being, we will now start Tuesday at 7:15PM.

I recently had the opportunity to try a grappling class- great workout, and I learned a lot. My basic takedown defense is OK, but without striking eventually they will get me down. I have a long way to go to be competent on the ground. My only saving grace was strength and conditioning. The instructor (Christian Medina) is a good teacher, which is rare (in my opinion at least). With the wide variety of martial arts training amongst CrossFitters, I am hoping we can get more “collective” training together.

It always feels good to learn something new, and I think this will really complement the other martial arts training I have done.
