Took a rest day yesterday and today proved that it was much needed.

The presses felt good this morning. Hit a new PR, although it’s not much weight since my pressing weights have stayed really light, but glad to see some progress.

The metcon was a good one. As much as T2Bs are a struggle for me, it was good to work on them.

I’ll be back tonight to help out and hang out. See you guys then!

    Strength: 5×5, 70#(Strict), 95#(strict), 115(strict), 135(1strict, 4push), 145(push)

Metcon: 5:39 RXed (except for a few K2Es to find my T2B groove).

Thanks for that early mornin’ push Pete!

I hit a newbie-type PR on the met-con, which was simply being able to do lots of T2Bs for the first time.

Great to work on all shoulder to OH lifts! I ended the last round of 5 with 103# push jerks. I hadn’t done those in a long time so it was good to do it again. I had to try it with just the bar first to remember how the hell the lift goes but then got the 5 reps on the 2nd attempt. Glad I was able to get to the triple digits.

T2B were good the first round then the hands were killing me by the 3 round and had to break it up a bunch of times.

  7. Katie says:

Presses and jerks went well for me! I worked from 43# to 63# and sucessfully did a set of push presses in between. For the last set I failed on the third jerk, so ended there. Almost at my previous PR of 65#, so I was happy — I’m returning to my pre-wedding/moving/stress/winter/gym transition strength!

I didn’t get a PR on the jerks, but I DID get one on a clean — 63#!! After dropping my jerk attempt, Tom made me try a clean despite my protests. I failed on the first one, and tried to make excuses why I couldn’t do it. Chris told me to take it from the hang and whip my elbows around, and to my surprise I got it!! Hooray!

I purposefully took the metcon slow because I wasn’t feeling well on Monday and had some new chiropractic manipulation done earlier that day. Started at 53# for the S2OH, but realized it wasn’t feasible for all 3 sets so I dropped to 43#. I scaled with knee raises, but unintentionally got a decent kip going and was pretty close to K2E. Soon.

Congrats on the T2B, Charles, that’s a legit PR, not just a newbie one!

Well done on the press PR, Steph! I think we have different definitions of “really light.” :o)

Andraea was awesome to watch, she made those jerks at 103# look easy.

Sounds like a great day overall — we’re hitting our stride at 1722!
