Look at the caboose on Frosty – he’s definitely been squatting with CFDC

A Happy Holidays indeed! 2013 has been quite the whirlwind, and we can’t imagine better people to share the ride with than each and everyone of you. We are extremely thankful for all your hard work, and for the support, encouragement, and words of congratulations so many people shared regarding our upcoming expansion. We were so thankful, in fact, we happily rewarded everyone with another epic earn-your-feast Thanksgiving day workout, which was another resounding success (go ahead and scratch another Hero and Girl workouts of the list!). It’s actually going to be difficult to part ways, even if for a few days, with all of you. But spend time with family we must, and as such, we lead off this shout-out post with our upcoming holiday hours.

That’s some good lookin’ gear!

Now, wouldn’t those sweatshirts look great with a pair of sweatpants? Just a thought…

We Wish You the Merriest
Speaking of giving thanks and holiday gifts, we are very thankful for our newest batch of elements grads!

Elements Grads 12-13-13

Pictured are Santiago E., Derrick R., Aileen R., Kristin L., Mindy S., Ashley J., Abby G., Cody E., Madison E., Dan D., and Matt C.

It’s like an early Christmas gift. Just look at all those smiling faces! And if you happen to see one of these smiling faces in class, please be sure to give them a warm welcome.

Blue December
Sadly, as we welcome some, we must also bid goodbye to a few others. A few have already left, and some are gearing up for departure, but please join us as we wish all the following all the best of luck in their future endeavors, wherever it may take them:
Helina C. (left us to return home to California)
Joanna G. (left us to return home to Sweden)
Inge S. (leaving us to return home to Denmark)
Nathan C. and Michael K. (relocating to Beijing, China as part of Nathan’s work)
Isra P. (deploying to Kuwait just after the New Year)

Let it Grow, Let it Grow, Let it Grow

Antonio knows: deadlifting your teammates in this kind of weather is snow joke!

And the list of competitors continues to grow! Thankfully, before leaving, both Inge S. and Joanna G. were able to jump into their first ever CrossFit competition, taking part in the SuperFit Rubicon on Saturday, December 7. They were joined by another fresh-faced competitor, Jess C., who joined them for her second ever CrossFit competition (the first being barely a month ago). Devon D. also got back into the swing of things, along with seasoned vets Steve O., Tom A., Dan S., and Julia L. Despite a maniacal schedule – including a new baby at home – Dan fought his way to incredible finish at 13th place among 70 competitors, while, Julia tore into the event, fighting all the way to the finals and finishing the day 4th out of 31 other ladies.

Meanwhile, not too far away, Dave LaC., Kit H. and Antonio N. were toughing things out in the aptly named Cold War III. Dave joined some old teammates from CF South Arlington, Antonio linked up with the Southern Maryland CF team, and Kit jumped in with a few other masters competitors from Brandywine CF, whom he helped to a first place finish on the day!
Congrats on incredible performances by all. You all make us feel honored to be your coaches!

Thanks, and safe travels to everyone heading out of town during the next few weeks.

Ha, some nice puns in there. Lots of very exciting updates. Congrats and welcome to the new Elements grads! We’ve seen several of them in this week’s classes, including Ashley and Abby who rocked out the handstand holds last night!

Sad face to the part about all those that are leaving/have left us 🙁
