Sorry to miss the New Years Day WOD as I’m sure it’s a douzee. However, happy to report my fitness was GREAT today when cycling at Haines Point’s annual New Years Day century ride. Really glad to have found CrossfitDC for its strength and conditioning programs which have translated to the bike very well. Heres to everyone’s fitness goals for 2014!

  2. Dray says:

I can’t believe how well people did on this – looking at some of the faces before we started, I was sure there would be plenty of people on the ground halfway through! Instead, it was me on the floor by the end. Welcome to 2014!

  3. Peter says:

Happy New Year to my Crossfit DC family. I wish I could have joined you all today for the workout. Fortunately, Crossfit Aftershock in Arkansas made sure that Doron, Paul and I brought in New Year with two Hero WODS: “Ryan” and “Randy.” However, it just wasn’t the same as being in DC. I look forward to suffering with you all in 2014!

  4. Steph says:

We missed you, Pete!!! Glad you were able to get your workout(s) in in Arkansas though!

The worst part of the workout was bringing the med ball back and forth. So awkward. I’m impressed that almost everyone in class ran with the ball. Thanks to Sara and Julia for being my teammates, and it was a a lot of fun to start a new year with a workout with Chris, Antonio, and Tom.

    Happy New Year everyone!

  5. Reg says:

So…what was the actual workout? 🙂

    • Dray says:

Uh… painful. Let’s see if I can remember it correctly…

5 rounds of 6 thrusters, 6 db snatch, 6 ots ball throws
5 rounds of 6 ball slams, 6 (over and back) side hurdles over the bar, 6 (per side) russian twists
      400 m run
5 rounds of 6 wall balls, 6 db snatch, 6 ots ball throws
      5 rounds of 6 T2B, 6 side hurdles, 6 russian twists
      400 m run

Done with a partner but both always working so you rotated after each other through the movements. Both must complete each distinct block before moving on to the next.
At least there was no rowing! And I know Steph has piles of pictures waiting to be shared.
