I was so, so happy to walk in to a nice, cool gym!!On days like this in particular, I do not miss Kalorama ONE BIT.
After figuring out how the workout was supposed to go, it was fun! I partnered with Ray and this lovely woman whose name starts with a W but I cannot remember for the life of me. Did 12″ box jumps, which is an improvement because jumps usually hurt my back, but they felt good today! I think I’m ready to start working back up. 20# DB snatches, good reminder from Coach Adri to keep it overhead particularly as I get tired. Burpees were shockingly not awful the first 3 rounds, but then got a little rough…glad to have another partner to pace me, it forced me to keep moving!
Did all the non-Coach Steve classes get a tabata sit-up bonus at the end?? 🙂 Oddly, my hip flexors started bugging me after a couple rounds, so I went to a hollow hold for a few to give them a break. Penalty burpees always amuse me, so I actually enjoyed this one. Great motivation to keep moving!
Katie, it is not likely that the non-Coach Steve classes got the tabata. sit-ups. It is a Steve O favorite.
Ummmmm I did not think it was possible to make box jumps even MORE unpleasant. I already get a little freaked out and the turn on each size was making me disoriented. Coach Chris gave me the tip to not ever look down which helped a little with the dizziness, but still wasn’t in love with them. Ok, rant over!
Otherwise – Nice long metcon! We did not get the sit up tabata bonus… But I’ve experienced that in another Steve O class!
