More than anything else, we at CrossFit DC take pride in the strength of our community. And as both of our gyms grow, we’re eager to help our members continue putting names to faces and connecting with one another.

After all, whether you’re an H St devotee or a 14th St fan, a PM class regular or a diehard AM-er, a newcomer or a longtime CFDCer, it won’t be long before draft picks for the next intra-gym Smackdown begin. So we thought we’d help better acquaint you with a few of your fellow gym-mates.

Meet Dhriti P.!

Dhriti started CrossFit with CFDC in May 2013, and has progressed by leaps and bounds since then.  We loved watching her dive right into things at last year’s Smackdown, and we sure appreciate her constant positivity in class, whether at 6am or 6:30pm.  Read on to learn more about Dhriti and her CrossFit journey!

  • Any nicknames that we may or may not already be aware of?  

Super Secret Squirrel.

  • Occupation (what do you do when you aren’t flinging heavy weights around the gym?)


  • How long have you been doing CrossFit?

A little over a year (time flies!).


  • Favorite and least favorite CrossFit movements? [editor’s note: saying #moresquats may not necessarily win you extra brownie points… but we aren’t necessarily saying it won’t, either…]

Favorite: back squats!

Least favorite:  Box jumps.  It’s hard to come back from a failed box jump attempt.  That box is in my head.

  • Tell us about a goal you’re working toward.

The elusive pull up.

  • Why do you do CrossFit? 

I continue to do Crossfit because it provides a great community, supportive coaches, and results.
