Do you even mobilize, bro?

CFDCers, feel free to check all that apply:

  • Tight ankles
  • Bum knees
  • Creaky Hips
  • Achy back
  • Stiff shoulders
  • Cranky neck
  • All of the above, plus a *few* more

Day in and day out, we force ourselves to meet rigorous standards of movement, training hard to get stronger, working hard to get fit. But those stiff, achy bits? What about those? How many of us are really giving them the attention they need? (HINT, it’s very, very few, and even fewer that are doing it correctly). So what’s a CFDCer to do?

Answer: mobility class!  That’s right, we’re excited to announce a new program addition at CrossFit DC: CFDC Mobility!

The success of our past mobility seminars has led us to create a bi-weekly mobility class, headed by our very own Dr. Kate W. The programming will include instructor-led mobilization with a rotating focus (hip, shoulders, etc.; as well as weekly suggestions tied to current programming). The class will be held on Thursdays at 6:30pm, alternating between gym locations — 14th St one week, H St the next week.  (Don’t worry; we’ll be sure to remind you when and where!) Each class will be limited to 12 participants to ensure adequate attention and access to the necessary mobility tools.

The inaugural class will be held this Thursday, October 22nd, at 14th Street, with a following session on Thursday, October 29th at H Street. These first classes will focus on general head-to-toe mobility, accompanied by recommendations of further work to be done outside of class (homework, yay!).

In brief:

  • What: CFDC Mobility Class
  • When: every other Thursday at 6:30pm
  • Where: class will alternate between locations, being held at 14th St one week, and H St the next
  • Why: ‘cuz, let’s face, few of us are gonna do this without being told what to do while we’re there!

What else? Well,

  • How MANY: class is limited to 12 participants (with a waiting list of 10 people)
  • How MUCH: free for members (although this does count as a class for Progress memberships)
  • How TO – sign-up, that is: online, through CFDC’s Front Desk system.

To sign up, click HERE (or, copy and paste the following into your web browser: http://bit.ly/1LGRM8F.)

If you have any questions, just give us a shout.  Otherwise, we’ll see you in the gym — that is, a soon-to-be bendier, flexier, more mobile you!
