Time Spent at CrossFit DC: great for the body, not always so kind on the wardrobe.

Maybe your quads are responded a little too well to our recent front squat cycle? Maybe your slimming waistline will no longer hold those pants up? Maybe you just want to make room in your wardrobe to justify buying a new CFDC hoodie?

We wouldn’t blame you for just having to have a new CFDC hoodie…

No matter the reason, we’re here to provide the solution!
This Saturday, October 31 from 5:30 to ?, CFDC is hosting its first ever Clothing Swap & Happy Hour at our 14th Street location. Bring any new or gently used workout gear that doesn’t seem to quite fit like it used to, or maybe clashes with those new pair of Nike Met-Cons you just bought, and swap it out for some new (to you) stuff! Any leftover clothes will be donated to Martha’s Table just up 14th Street. Martha’s Table is an awesome local charity which works to provide a better future for DC’s children and their families by increasing access to healthy living and healthy connections.

How it works:

  • We’ll begin accepting clothing as of Wednesday at both locations (items to be placed in the designated box, and your name & the number of items donated recorded on the sheet provided);
  • On Saturday, 10/31, we’ll open the doors at 5:30pm for people to come in and socialize (AKA, Happy Hour!);
  • The clothing swap will start at 6:30pm;
  • You’ll receive a token/ticket for each item that you bring (up to 10 items, and yes, you can wait until Saturday night to bring your items), and you can trade your token/ticket(s) for any article of clothing available.

What to bring:

Feel free to bring any and all new or gently used fitness gear (no stains, rips or tears please!), including shirts, shorts, sweatshirts and sweat pants, jackets, shoes and accessories (we’ll pass on the used knee sleeves though, thanks).
We’ll also be accepting donations of any kids clothing, gently used business attire, and any winter clothing – this is extremely important as we are on the cusp of winter!

BUT WAIT: you know that old pair of shoes, the ones you just replaced with the Nano 2000’s (or whatever they’re actually up to now)? Well, bring those too! We’ll be donating all those busted up, grungy shoes to Nike’s shoe recycling program.

Yes, we really meant any pair of shoes (please keep hands to yourself)

So, again, that’s:

– Saturday, October 31, 5:30pm to whenever;
– any and all fitness gear to be swapped;
– any and all gently used business attire to be donated;
– any and all gently used winter clothing to be donated;
– any and all gently used kids clothing do be donated; and,
– all pairs of used shoes to be recycled.

If you have any questions, just give us a shout.  Otherwise, clean out those closets and we’ll see you (and all your clothes) in the gym soon!
