Focus 1: Snatch Balance
Focus 2: Hang Snatch (esp. Hang Squat Snatch)
Workout: OH Lunge-to-OHS Complex & Burpee Over the Bar

So, just how DO you get more comfortable pulling into the squat position when snatching? Well, we know some people might take issue with use of the term “comfortable,” so let’s just say this: in Base Camp this weekend, we’ll talk about how to improve on pulling into the squat position. We’ll start with developing a better feel for where the bar should be overhead, then how to get the bar into the position from the hips, and then we’ll put them both together. Specifically, class will include:

  • Introduction and practical review of the Snatch Balance movement (inc. Pressing Snatch Balance, Heaving Snatch Balance, and Snatch Balance) using a lightweight bar;
  • Follow-up review of the Snatch, focusing primarily on the Hang Squat Snatch, including lifts with just the bar and with added weight;
  • Explanation of common coaching cues; and,
  • Scaling and substitution options for the Base Camp workout of the week, including how and when to choose a scaling/sub option
