Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Coach Emily Baskin
We’re thrilled to introduce Emily Baskin as the newest member of the CrossFit DC coaching team.
If Emily’s name or cheery smile seem familiar, that isn’t surprising, given her years as a mainstay of the DC-area CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting communities. A veteran coach and accomplished national-level Olympic weightlifter, Emily has dedicated her career in health and fitness to the belief that “anybody and any body can be powerful, strong, and confident.” We love her positive energy and passion for coaching, and we know you will, too.
Emily will begin coaching classes in January, and we’ll look forward to seeing her at both 14th Street and H Street throughout the week. Until then, you may just catch her dropping in for a class or workout or two — please be sure to introduce yourself and give her a warm CFDC welcome.
We’re so glad to have you, Emily. Welcome to the CrossFit DC family!

EMILY BASKIN
CROSSFIT DC COACH
Emily earned her Masters in Health Promotion Management from Marymount University in 2010, and sees CrossFit as a magic bullet of a health promotion program for people of all abilities and backgrounds. Swirl CrossFit with the right dose of athletic mentality and the craft of coaching, and somehow Emily fell into her dream job.
Emily was introduced to her first CrossFit-like metcon with a doozy of a 9-minute workout in 2010 and began coaching in late 2011. Growing up, Emily looked forward to gymnastics practice, weekend soccer games, and watching strongman competitions. After co-captaining her collegiate soccer team at James Madison University, and earning All-American Strength and Conditioning honors in her senior year, she was searching for a new active outlet to fill the void. She has found that CrossFit elicits the same excitement, and much more.
She is thrilled to be able to share her joy of movement, help challenge you to discover your own inner beastly athlete, and together prove that anybody and any body can be powerful, strong, and confident.
