Cheryl Jackson has been a member of DC Weightlifting since 2018 and competed for most of her 12 competitions with the team as a masters athlete. No stranger to hard work and success, she’s travelled as far as Seattle, WA, where she placed seventh at the 2019 American Masters in the 64 kg, women’s 45-49 class. She is also an avid physique athlete, seeking to obtain her pro card in the near future. Her pathway into these worlds started through CrossFit.

During a difficult year for everyone, she managed to find other successes inside and outside of weightlifting. She competed in early August, in Baltimore, to match or exceed her personal bests in snatch, clean and jerk, and her lifetime best total. In 2021, she also received her USAW national referee license and completed her USAW Level 1 coaching certificate. Her passion for nutrition has also led her to be accepted to the masters program for Human Clinical Nutrition at Maryland University of Integrative Health. Professionally, she supervises a team of immigration paralegals in the District.
