How long have you been doing CrossFit and how long have you been at CrossFit DC?
I’ve been doing CrossFit for 7-8 months. I joined CrossFit DC after a Boot Camp class at the H street location.
What do you do when you’re not crushing workouts at the gym?
I enjoy traveling and writing poetry. I’m also getting a master in clinical psychology degree and behavioral analysis.
What is a goal you’re currently working towards (in the gym or beyond)?
My current gym goal is to do the Handstand Push Ups and Snatches. And my main goal outside the gym, is to travel all Latin America in the next 5 years.
Favorite and least favorite CrossFit movements/workouts?
My favorite movement is the thrusters and deadlifts, and least favorite, handstand push-ups. I don’t like being upside down.
What is one coaching cue/tip that has helped you recently?
Coach Jess helped me better understand Double Under jumps by suggesting a different rope and focusing on a higher jump. I am also taking private lessons with coach Emily who has been very helpful and patient. Thank you Emily!
What is something you wish you knew about CrossFit when you first started?
The importance of stretching is the one thing that comes to mind.
