About Me

Favorite thing about CrossFit:
I love that I can walk into the gym and know I'll get an amazing workout in an hour—all while seeing and cheering on my friends!

Favorite movement(s) or workout(s):
I love double unders, and complex lifts like the snatch or clean. Double unders were my first "skill" movement I got in CF, and I love that complex lifts are more often technique- and timing- based than pure brute strength.

Favorite things to do outside of the gym:
You can usually find me walking around the U Street/Logan area with my 4yo beagle named Meadow and my boyfriend! Other than that, I just started a doctoral program in public health at Johns Hopkins, so that takes up a good portion of my time these days outside of work and the gym.

How did you first get into CrossFit?
I first started CrossFit in Boston when I was a senior in undergrad. I played soccer all my life, and I was looking for something more than cardio, core work, and your typical gym session. My brother mentioned that he got his Level-1, and it peaked my interest. I tried out a class, and after "testing out" of Elements (thanks to my brother!), I was hooked!

Why did you decide to become a CrossFit coach?

It was really when I moved to Atlanta that CrossFit became an integral part of life for me. I loved the feeling of PRing lifts, and learning new gymnastic skills; I also saw how helpful my coaches were in getting better. When I moved up to DC, I knew I wanted to become a coach to help other folks reach their goals. After a year at CFDC (and then the pandemic), it was a no-brainer for me to talk with Tom about becoming a coach— and luckily, he was super supportive of it!
