Favorite thing about CrossFit:
Variety. The never-ending combinations of movements (modal domains) keep me from getting bored, which would certainly happen if I was repeating workouts every other day.
Favorite movement(s) or workout(s):
I hate doing thrusters, but they are probably my favorite movement. They work just about every muscle group and I am always so happy when I am done with them.
Favorite things to do outside of the gym:
Watch my son's hockey games and work on old motorcycles.
How did you first get into CrossFit?
Before CrossFit DC existed, my wife and Tom worked together at a small gym. Tom was doing CrossFit coaching a couple days a week and he encouraged us to come and check it out. We were hooked after that.
Why did you decide to become a CrossFit coach?
I could never find motivation in a gym environment and found the usual gym experience to be monotonous. Once I started CrossFit, I felt like I knew a secret that had the potential to improve people's lives and I wanted to share that.
